You can continue to support Flag Day –  visit our table in 7th St. Park on the day of the parade to purchase your chance to win one of these prizes listed below!  Drawing will be held at the waterfront following the parade.

  1. Basket of Cheer – a basket filled with various bottles of wine and liquors plus other ‘goodies’.
  2. Hi-way Drive-In Theatre – a season pass for a family of 4 to see all the movies that you want for the 2018 season.  Tickets are $5.00 for 3 chances.

The parade steps off at 2 PM at Green & State Street and will march down Warren St, ending at the Amtrak Train Station.

Parade goers will see a variety of participation from community groups, churches, fire companies, youth groups, and businesses.   We have marchers, vehicles, floats and marching bands.  Parade judges will be evaluating the participants for awards in Best Color Guard, Best Musical Unit, Most Patriotic, and more!

The big bands returning include 20th Century Limited, The Skyliners, The Saints Brigade, Columbia District & Pipe Band, and more, along with our favorite high school marching bands!  Some of these groups will give an additional performance at the waterfront as well, followed by the singing of our national anthem by vocalist Robbie Thorpe and then the judges’ announcement of trophies earned.

The water front will be full of vendors with the most variety of foods and merchandise that we have ever had!  There will also be an amusement area with rides for the young at heart and entertainment provided by DJ Terry Johnson from 2 – 3:30 PM, the Flag Day Awards Ceremony at 3:30 PM followed by more DJ music until 5:30 PM and finishing up the evening with music by Dusk Til Dawn from 6 – 9 PM.

The area’s largest fireworks display, produced by Young Explosives, will round out the night at Hudson’s Riverfront Park at about 9 PM.
